Damon Harlow is Line High School bad boy. Handsome, ruthless, cold and indifferent, the very last person you want to mess with. What happens when Zayne Robin, a constantly bullied nerd mistakenly hides in his lair while truing to escape from the bullies?
The hails and shouts that was drifting into Damon’s ears couldn’t get any louder. Even though he had been fighting for tad a bit over three years, his ears never really got used to the noise in the underground fighting park. If anything they irritated him more than anything. At times he wished he could send a punch to everyone’s mouth while they yelled.
Couldn’t they just watch the match without screaming their lungs out?
Damon nodded had no idea. While he was thinking, a punch landed on his face and Damon staggered feeling the pain all till the back of his head. He touched his nose and brought his hands to his hands for examination.
Blood.
He glanced back at his opponent and the latter grinned back at him but his bloodied face made his grin look horrendous. The bell that rang in his ears made him realize that, that round was over. With a light chuckle, he walked back to his side of his ring where an older man and woman were standing. The older woman pointed at his nose and laughed cheerfully while bringing out a napkin and a bottle of water to help him dampen the blood striking down his nose. The moment she touched him, Damon winched but didn’t pull away as he frowned unhappily.
“I think your nose is broken” she said and Damon’s eyebrows furrowed while the man frowned.
“You are dragging the match longer than usual, he isn’t even your match, he should be down by now” the older man said as Damon turned to him with a frown.
“Don’t even start. He broke my nose. I don’t need your reminder” Damon said as the older woman laughed again.
“Don’t kill him though” she added with a wink as Damon glanced at her before walking back to the middle of the ring.
Damon took another lazy glance at his opponent again. He hadn’t even taken notice of him when they started fighting but now that the latter had broken his nose, he did deserve some kind of recognition.
Damon shook his head not bothering to register of the latter features seeing how ugly and irritable he looked. He touched his nose once more and winced lightly before glancing at his opponent. The bell was rung signifying that the last round had started. Damon just stared at his opponent without moving.
Thinking he was distracted again, his opponent rushed towards him with full force with the crowd yells and shouts accompanying him. As he got closer, Damon yawned as he moved his left leg in a roundabout kick and the latter came rushing to the ground faster than when he rushed at him. He fell to the ground with a thud and everywhere went silent before the crowd went hyper active again, this time around, displeasure was boldly written all over his face as he glared at the man who was about to grab his hand and declare him as the winner.
Collecting his napkin from the older woman, he walked out of the ring and steadily as the crowd naturally made way for him amidst yells and shouts.
“That was smooth” the older woman said as Damon buttoned up his shirt while glancing at the woman.
“You taught me that yourself” he said as she smiled.
“I didn’t realize it looked that cool” the woman said as Damon darted a glance at her before grabbing the school bag on the table and walking outside the room. Another fight was to start in the ring and the crowd had gone bonkers while yelling again. He hissed loudly as he made his way outside.
Seeing how the sun rays fell on him the moment he stepped outside the restaurant; Damon wondered why he agreed to fight in the early hours of the morning in the first place. After fighting, he loved sleeping; to fight early in the morning and then go to school; Damon could see a storm brewing.
He swung his long legs over his bike as he wore his helmet over his head slid down the cover. He ignited the engine and sped off. As he sped off the woman and the man who were with him earlier stepped out and the man frowned his face immediately while the woman sighed while chuckling.
“I told him to wait for me” she murmured as he turned to the man beside her.
“What exactly is bothering you?” she asked as the man shook his head while staring into space.
“Time is almost up. I’m afraid he won’t release him when that times comes” he replied as the smile on the woman’s face vanished immediately.
“He dare not” she said with coldness dripping from each word.
As usual classes had started by the time he got to school, he parked his bike and left the key at the key hole not bothering to even put a tag on the bike as per the school rules in case of theft. Slinging his bag over one of his shoulders he walked towards his class his posture lazy and daunting.
The moment Damon appeared at the door, the whole class went silent; the teacher not excluded. He glanced at the class before he walked inside towards his seat and dropped his bag on the floor. He narrowed his eyes while trying to make out the topic on the board. Seeing the topic; he didn’t hesitate before placing his head on the locker and closing his eyes.
It wasn’t until some minutes later that Damon could hear the teacher’s voice as he continued teaching. He had also as well lowered his voice while the whole class kept quiet a they listened to the teacher.
Damon had no idea of when he drifted off to sleep but he had to give the teacher kudos for inducing it. Just how boring was the topic that he fell asleep so quick? But by the time he opened his eyes, the class was already half empty. He sat up on his seat as he came to face with another guy seated a few meters away from him. The latter had a small frown on his face and Damon raised his eyebrow at him.
“You fought in the early hours of a school day? he asked as Damon shrugged his shoulders.
“So?” Damon asked as the latter gritted his teeth.
“You are crazy” he replied as Damon chuckled lightly.
“I’m hungry” Damon suddenly said as the other guy glared at him with distaste.
“Let’s go and find something to eat” he said after a while as Damon rose to his feet while slipping his hands into his pockets as they walked out of the class.
The students in the hallways started making way for them as some of them ran away entirely. Damon continued walking while listening to his best friend talking.
“Judas?” Damon asked as Adam nodded his head.
“You don’t remember him? Adam asked as Damon shook his head while Adam also shook his head.
“This is unbelievable. You beat him and his friends up back then and told him to make them the both of you doesn’t run into each other ever again else, you were going to beat him each time you saw him” Adam said as Damon raised hiss eyebrow.
“Really?2 Damon asked as Adam burst into mocking laughter.
“He changed schools at the end of the day. He moved to Europe while his friends also went to other schools in some other areas” Adam replied as Damon tilted his head and shrugged.
“Do you know why I beat them back them?” Damon asked as Adam shook his head while folding his hands.
“You don’t remember either do you?2 Adam asked as Damon nodded.
“What exactly do you remember Damon?” Adam asked as Damon glanced at him for a while before pulling his eyes away.
“You beat them because they took pictures with your baby” Adam replied as Damon pursed his lips and chuckled,
“How dare they anyways?” he asked as they stepped into the cafeteria. The orderly line quickly adjusted itself as soon as they saw Damon; everyone immediately made way for him to take food while Adam continued ranting to him about how much he had beaten them back then. He wasn’t even bothered that some of the students had taken a video back then.
Damon shoved a fry into his mouth as she finally turned to Adam.
“So why are you telling me about this?” Damon asked as he picked around fry.
“I don’t even remember how this guy looks like. This event you are talking about has happened a little bit over a year ago. You didn’t tell me all those stories just to remind me of much of a bully I am and to remind me of how bad I had beaten them that day right?” Damon asked again as Adam sighed.
“Of course not” Adam replied as he brought out his phone from his pocket. He stared at his phone screen for a while before sliding the phone towards Damon who picked up the phone while eating.
The moment his eyes met the contents of the screen, the fry in his hands immediately fell back into the plate as Damon raised his head to face Adam who sighed softly and nodded.
“He joined recently. About two months ago”
